Chinatown is not just for Tourists!
Be a Part of the Growing Chicago Chinatown Real Estate Scene
Chinatown is a thriving, bustling community. In fact, it’s one of the only Chinatowns in the United States that is seeing growth! Take a walk around at the intersection of Cermak Road and Wentworth Ave and you will see the heart of Chinatown, a vibrant, growing Chicago real estate scene. In addition to incredible restaurants representing just about every region of China, you’ll see new hotels, an award-winning public library, and the Wells-Wentworth Connector, a multi-phase project creating a new road between the Loop and Chinatown.
Just a few blocks north of the hustle and bustle, you can enjoy the peaceful setting of Ping Tom Memorial Park or catch a water taxi into the Loop. Surrounding this iconic and historic area are numerous townhomes, single-family homes, and condos for sale in Chinatown. All within walking distance to the CTA red line and green line, or a pleasant walk or bike ride to the Loop! It is also super easy to hop on the Stevenson I-55 and the Dan Ryan I-90/94.
Originally established at Clark Street and Van Buren Street, the Chinatown community moved further south to its present location in 1912. Chinatown Square, a two-level open courtyard with restaurants, salons, shopping and offices just North of the main Wentworth Ave. District, was established in the 1980’s.
Just minutes south of the Loop, Chinatown boundaries are:
• 18th street to the north,
• S. Normal to the west,
• S. Clark to the east, and
• 24th place to the south.
