Pre-Consultation Preparation

When it comes to buying a home, preparation is key. This will help you determine what you are looking for in a home. It will allow you to provide answers to the important questions I’ll be asking during our consultation.

To get started, I advise my clients to find their “big why” – the primary reason for their move. Maybe you’re looking to be closer to top-rated schools, trendy dining options, or exciting entertainment venues. Perhaps you need a bigger or smaller space. Or maybe you’re hoping to find a residence closer to work. Whatever your reason, understanding your “big why” will help us find a home that meets your unique needs.

It’s important to set a budget and decide on the features you’re looking for in a home. If you haven’t already found a lender, I recommend doing so. Being pre-approved for a loan will help you determine a budget, and a letter of approval is expected when making an offer.

Initial Consultation

During the initial consultation, we’ll talk about what matters most to you. Here are a few things I’ll be asking about:

  • Your neighborhood and location preferences
  • Your budget (we also review financing options)
  • Your preferred features you are looking for in your home
  • Your timeline for purchasing a property

I want to thoroughly understand your needs so I can help you find the perfect fit for you at this time of your life. My priority is to make sure that you find the perfect home, with the least amount of stress and within budget. As we start looking at properties, I will concentrate on your feedback and incorporate it in further search criteria. Often times, needs or wants change as the buyer begins to search. No problem, we redirect.
